Materials
At Newton Hill Furniture, we put a strong focus on using natural and sustainable materials when possible. Knowing where our raw materials come from not only helps us to be eco-conscious, but allows us to connect with each piece on a deeper level.

White Oak is a dense hardwood found throughout the Northeast that has excellent durability with mostly straight prominent grain and subtle figuring. The color ranges from a pale tan to a light brown ideal for a clean bright look.

Walnut is a medium density hardwood Native to the Northeast. It is highly sought after for its naturally dark heartwood that adds depth and warmth to any space.

Ebonized Oak is created using a dye to turn Red Oak lumber into a deep, rich black. It boasts similar strength and durability to White Oak, with a slightly more pronounced grain structure.

Ash is a strong and durable hardwood with an open grain structure similar to Oak. The color ranges from a creamy white to a pale blonde, and brings a clean and airy lightness to any design.
Lumber
We source all of our lumber from FCS certified mills that use sustainable forestry techniques to ensure the health of forests through natural regeneration.
Finishes
We use finishes that are derived from natural materials and contain low or no VOCs. These finishes are safe for children, pet & plants, and are suitable for high traffic areas.
Leather
Our leathers are sourced from both domestic and international tanneries with the highest standards of quality and sustainability in mind
